Ruby (voiced by Charlyne Yi) and Sapphire (voiced by Erica Luttrell) – Garnet's smaller, weaker components who first appeared in "Jail Break", later reappearing in "Keystone Motel" and were mentioned in "Love Letters" and "Keeping it Together". They are deeply in love with each other, so they stay fused as Garnet so they will never separate, though they will sometimes converse with each other through Garnet under stressful situations.
Ruby's gemstone is a ruby embedded on her left hand, while Sapphire's gemstone is a sapphire embedded on her right hand. Both gems have the ability of thermokinesis; Ruby's powers manifest as an fire-like increase of temperature around her (she left scorch marks on the carpeting and made the entire motel pool evaoprate in "Keystone Motel"), while Sapphire's ability drains the heat from her vicinity in and ice-like way (she froze the motel room in the same episode).
Ruby uses a red glove as a weapon, while Sapphire possesses "future vision", both of which are passed onto Garnet when they are fused. Ruby wears a martial-arts outfit and headband, while Sapphire wears a full-length dress.
Generally, the upper half of Sapphire's face is covered by her hair, but in "Keystone Motel", it is shown that she has one large eye in the center of her forehead with a blue iris.
